The act of burying, which in some cultures coincides with the celebration for the end of earthly life, is here translated in a collective action aimed to birth.
The soil is the end of a cycle and a fertile womb at the same time. The music that accompanies the pictures is part of the last scene of the drama “Tristan und Isolde” by Wagner, known as the Liebestod. Just as the love of the two lovers takes place in death, as a symbol of cosmic union, the “love” that the Earth gives to the living takes place through a cyclical process, which passing from the death unites our very essence of matter to that of the cosmos. The soundtrack has been composed using audio real-time capture. Ambient sounds have been emphasized, some have been sampled and played interweaving with the piano. The images were taken on October 23 2010 at the “Parco Arte Vivente” in Turin during the workshop “Taking Over”, conducted by Andreas Gedin. The Swedish artist creates a fusion of cultural and natural elements using nature as an actress in the creative process. The suspended musical atmosphere at the video closing stresses the incompleteness of this collective action, which will only end in spring with the birth of the flowers.

L’atto di sotterrare, che in alcune culture coincide con le celebrazioni per la fine della vita terrena, si traduce qui in un’azione collettiva volta alla nascita.
La terra è punto d’arrivo e grembo fertile al tempo stesso. La musica che accompagna le immagini è parte dell'ultima scena del dramma “Tristan und Isolde” di Wagner, conosciuta col nome Liebestod. Così come l’amore dei due amanti si realizza nella morte, in quanto simbolo di unione cosmica, “l’amore” che la Terra dà ai viventi si realizza attraverso un processo ciclico, che passando per la morte unisce la nostra stessa essenza materica a quella del cosmo.
La colonna sonora è stata realizzata sfruttando l’audio in presa diretta. I suoni ambientali sono stati enfatizzati e alcuni di questi campionati e utilizzati nell’intreccio musicale col pianoforte.
